At First Minsk and Then Georgian Preparation

 

Within the next ten days, Georgian National Judo team will hold trainings in Belarus. Irakli Uznadze coached team this morning-two days after his return from the South Korean gathering-went to Minsk, where the European Judo Union-organized international collection.

Head coach took the collection of 12 candidates for the national team. It is easy to guess that on the basis of the enlarged team will be formed, which will play at the World Cup.

In these training sessions will be attended by Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg), Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Shalva Kardava (66 kg), Zebeda Tatalashvili, Nugzar Rekhviashvili (73 kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili, Levan Tsiklauri (81 kg), Varlam Liparteliani, Zviad Gogochuri (both-90 kg), Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg), Adam, Nodar Okruashvili Metreveli (+100 kg).

As you can see from the list, 100 kg weight category in the application only Levan Zhorzholiani, who after the London Olympics has decided to terminate an active career and currently is Vice President of the Judo Federation of Georgia. However, due to the fact that his squad have the weight problem, he resumed workouts and hope that will restore the desired shape. Though perhaps Nodar Metreveli is also considered a candidate to speak in this weight class, despite the fact that at this point he is clearly heavier and recently competed in the heavyweight.

Belarusian collection will end on June 20. After the Georgian wrestlers return to Tbilisi and the preparation for the World Cup will continue in Georgia.

We remind that the World Championship will be held from 26 August to 1 September in Rio de Janeiro.
