It can be said that Richard Dixon, head coach of Georgian Rugby National Team, called up experimental staff against Spanish National Team at Cup of Nations.
There are such two players among 23 ones who have never played for National Team. According to it we can suppose that Scottish specialist create team for New Zealand. Under Dixon and his assistants Georgian National Team held two matches against Canadian and American teams, but those matches were oriented on result and now it is time for experiments.
Debutants will play at problematic line of “Lelos”. 23-year-old Vakhtang Maisuradze is the second liner and he competes quite well at French Federal 1. He participated in 13 matches of the 3rd division and fights for going through play off with his team. He was sinbinned twice while playing in his club and now he is given chance to show his possibilities in National Team. The second debutant is 20-year-old Beka Urjukashvili. He played 10 matches in Federal 1 and scored 4 tries and performed 14 penalty kicks and once drop kick, he gained 69 points. Urjukishvili as well as Maisuardze was sinbinned twice. They need to improve their discipline and in such way they will be strong power for national team in New Zealand. Anton Peikrishvili, Jaba Bregvadze, Vasil Kakovin and Shalva Sutiashvili are experienced in playing for national team but in spite of this they fight for membership in the main staff of team. They do not suffer lack of practice in their clubs but they still considered as candidates of national team and they have to prove their possibilities now. Mamuka Gorgodze leader of team, who is recovering was not called up as well as hooker Akvsenti Giorgadze, first liner Goderzi Shvelidze and Davit Kubriashvili. Their possibilities are known and new coach decided others’ possibilities for having big choice at World Cup.
According to new regulations of Cup of Nations, winner gains 4 points, in case of drew teams gain 2 points and for scoring 4 or more tries team gains premier point. So, Georgian National Team should be mobilized against outsider Ukrainian and Spanish National Teams, they should gain maximum 10 points.
Georgian National Team holds match against Ukrainian team on February 5 and against Spanish team at “Mikhel Meskhi” stadium 15:00 o’clock on February 12. Ticket’s prize is 2 GEL.
