Detained Football Players are Set Free

 

Giga Bechvaia (“Wit Georgia”), Roin Oniani, Levan Vartagava (both “Baia”), Spartak Gogia and Kakhaber Kirtadze (“Samtredia”) who were detained by Constitutional Security Department of MIA were set free after questioning.

According to Giga Bechvaia, he was questioned as a witness. Other players did not make statements.

Today, Sergo Topuridze, the deputy chief of Constitutional Security Department of MIA, stated that they detained some players of the national championship. According to the operative material of MIA, these players used to make illegal deals with Davit Gabedava, representative of the “black business” of bookmakers, and agreed on the results of the matches in advance.
