Russian “Sovetski Sport” published the list of those football players who did not distinguish themselves at Azerbaijani Championship. Giorgi Demetradze, former forward of the Georgian national team, is among five football players.

Giorgi Demetradze (“Baku”)

Demetradze went to Azerbaijan not to play football but to finish career. In 2008 he signed contract with “Baku”. Giorgi was holding a jersey of new club in the hand when he stated: “I was invited to China but I chose Azerbaijan”. People applauded him. As it was expected, Demetradze seldom attended matches of his team. He has scored 2 goals in 10 official matches for 2 years. Demetradze left Azerbaijan in 2010. A few months later he was arrested with the charge of connection with “criminal world”.
