Prize money of Makhachkala World Cup has increased from 150 000 USD up to 166 000 USD. Team which wins the tournament will gain 80 000 USD. The second-placed will win 50 000 USD and the third-placed – 30 000 USD. Also, prizes are for top 3 coaches – 3 000, 2 000 and 1 000 USD.
Georgian freestyle wrestling team will leave for Makhachkala in several hours. Georgian team, like other participant teams, will wrestle on Dagestan mat with No. 2 and 3. The main staffs are holding last meetings for European Championship (Dortmund. March 29-30). Before leaving for Germany, the team of Zaza Turmanidze will train in Dusheti district.
10 teams will compete in World Cup which will be held at Ali Alyev gym. Georgia, Russia, Iran, Cuba, Bulgaria, Kirgizstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and joint team of Hungary and Kazakhstan will be divided into two subgroups. After the end of the group stage, the first-placed teams will wrestle against each other for winning the championship and the second-placed teams will wrestle for the 3rd place.
Georgiawill have one representative in first six weight classes: Besarion Gochashvili (55 kg), Malkhaz Kurdiani (60 kg), Shalva Muziashvili (66 kg), Gela Sagirashvili (74 kg), Beka Chelidze (84 kg) and Davit Kerashvili (96 kg). Coaches Davit Khurtsia and Davit Otiashvili put Levan Berianidze and Giorgi Sakandelidze in heavyweight list.
