Tsintsadze will Play under the Number 8 for "Donetsk"

Repeated Debut of the Georgian Defender will be Held at "Azomvash Cup"

As we have informed, the Georgian defender Giorgi Tsintsadze will spend the upcoming season in the Ukrainian "Donetsk". He has already arrived in Donetsk, passed a medical examination and signed the contract, and revealed that he will play in the new team under the number 8.

Georgian defender now is in the camp of “Tigers” (the name of Donetsk) and is preparing for “Azovmash Cup”, which will take place next weekend. It is already known, that on September 21 “Donetsk” will play against “Krasny Octyabr” Volgograd, and depending on the outcome of this match, on 22 will play against “Azomvash” of Mariupol or “BC Kiev”.

The fans of Donetsk should remember Giorgi Tsintsadze well, because he played for this club also in 2010. I will also remind you that, Tsintsadze played also for Russian CSKA, CSK VVS, “Ural Great”, “Dinamo” Moscow, “Rock” Estonia, “Trikala” Greece and “Sopot” Poland, and last season he spent in “Budivelnyk” Ukraine.

Tsintsadze was one of the leaders of Kiev and helped them to win the champions title. The Georgian basketball player gained average 9,2 points, 4,3 rebounds and 3,1 assists in the Championship of Ukraine. “Bu” (nickname of Tsintsadze) held 16 matches in European Cup, where he gained 8,2 points, 2,6 rebounds, 3,9 assists and 1,1 steals. By the way, “Budivelnyk” went through the semifinal, which is the best result for Ukrainian basketball.

At the European Championship 2013 in Slovenia, Tsintsadze was one of the best in the national team of Georgia. The Georgian back liner played almost without substitution, his average showing was: 14.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

In the next season, Tsintsadze along with Ukrainian Super League will play also in VTB League. Donetsk is in group A and the opponents will be Russian “Lokomotiv” (Kuban), “Nizhny Novgorod”, “Yenisey”, “Spartak” (Sankt Petersburg), “Unics”, “Nymburk” Czech Republic, “Kalev Cramo” Estonia, “Lietuvos Rytas” Lithuania and “Turov” Poland. Donetsk have their first match against “Spartak” on October 13.
