Avtandil Chrikashvili (81kg), member of the Georgian judo team, needs only one victory to win the bronze medal at “Grand Slam” of Tokyo. Travis Stevens of America, to whom he lost in the Olympic Games of London, will be his opponent in the repechage final.

After losing to Japanese Takanori Nagases in the quarter final, Chrikashvili moved to the repechage.

Ushangi Margiani (81kg) also wrestled on behalf of Georgia and ended the tournament with the loss to Stevens in the 1/8 final. In 73 kg weight category Pridon Gigani lost to Japanese Ricky Nakaya.
