Georgian 23rd national rugby championship has just started and fans will already watch central match. “Lokomotive” Tbilisi and “Lelo” will play in the central match of the second round.
These teams are always fighting for the highest goals and 2011 year will not be exception. Both teams started the championship with victories and now they will play against each other. In the first round, “Lelo” beat “Armazi” and “Lokomotive” – “Army”.
In the final of last championship, “Lokomotive” beat “Lelo” 16:11 and returned the title. Before that, “Lelo” won over its opponent 22:10 and beat “Lokomotive” in two matches of the regular championship – 26:17 and 9:3. “Lelo” won last Cup (23:17). According to the decision of Georgian Rugby Union, upcoming match will be held at reserve stadium of “Mikheil Meskhi”. The first circle matches are held on artificial turf pitches but “Lokomotive” – “Lelo” match is special one and rugby players will play on natural turf.
The first match of the second round will be held at “Shevardeni” stadium where “Army” will host “Kharebi” Rustavi. “Army” which is debutant of Supreme League is fighting for the championship this year. “Academy” will play against “Aia” Kutaisi at 16:00 at “Shevardeni” stadium. Both teams started the championship with victories. Last year, “Aia” beat “Academy” 18:14 in the first round but then “Academy” won over its opponent 18:11.
“Armazi” will play against “Kochebi Wissol”. These teams are fighting for staying in Supreme League and this match should be interesting. Last year, “Kochebi” beat its opponent 29:12 and 42:26 but now they do not play so well anymore.
