The Georgian national basketball team will start preparation for EuroBasket 2013 on 8 July but Tornike Shengelia will not participate in it.

“Brooklyn Nets” put the Georgian forward on summer league and plans to observe him in test games in Orlando.

12 basketball players are on the list of “Brooklyn Nets”. Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor are among these players.

“Nets” will hold five games in summer league. On 7 July the game against “Detroit Pistons”, on 8 July – against “Miami Heat”, on 10 July – against “Utah Jazz”, on 11 July – against “Houston Rockets” and on 12 July – against another opponent which is not known yet.

Jason Kidd, new head coach of “Nets”, will head the club at the mentioned games. Shengelia has a chance to distinguish himself.

The Georgian basketball player participated in negotiations between “Nets” and “Boston Celtics” but situation has changed. Perhaps, Shengelia will stay in “Brooklyn”.
