In spite of that, the most tense match of the 5th round was between MIA and "Kutaisi", the best basketball player of the round became participant of the match between leader TSU and current champion "Energy Invest".
Beka Tsivtsivadze from "Energy Invest" was named as MVP of the round. Beka scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 turnovers.
Here is an interview with Beka Tsivtsivadze, taken by "World Sport".
- After the lost matches against "Sokhumi" and Samedicino, you beat leader TSU. How can you explain this easy victory over TSU?
- I believed in success of our team.
- If you believed in beating TSU, what can you blame in losing against "Sokhumi" and Samedicino?
- Short chair is a great problem of "Energy Invest". Even if not this problem, we cannot hold all matches on the same level. All teams have failure and "Energy Invest" is not an exclusion. It is good that our team overcame unsuccessful period and is still on form.
- How can you estimate level of the current championship?
- I have been playing in Georgian national championship since 2005. I have never seen such strong championship as it is held now.
- Which teams do you consider as favorites?
- MIA and "Army" have the best staff. Other teams, as well as we, can offer surprises.
- You were going to continue your basketball career abroad...
- I have tried to play in Israel for 2 years but something always prevents me from doing it. Last year limit of legionaries was expired and I could not play there. This time my agent betrayed me. It was one of the best Israeli clubs "Galil Gilboa" which is trained by famous Israeli basketball player Odet Katash.
- Have you changed your mind to play for foreign club?
- I want to play for foreign club and I cannot give it up so easily. Now I have Lithuanian agent and he is working on this issue.
- Why did you choose Lithuanian agent?
- I have many friends in Lithuania. Also coaches are among them. They agree to work in Georgia for 2 000 EUR.
- When will your contract with "Energy Invest" expire?
- I will play for "Energy Invest" till the end of the first round at least. I do not know what will be next. Perhaps, I will stay in Georgia or will go abroad.
- Have you ever been invited to Georgian national team?
- Never. All basketball players dream to play in the national team. I am not an exception. I really deserve to play for the national team. Coach should decide it.
- What are you doing that you deserve to play for the national team?
- I am training hard and doing my best.
