A 18-year-old Georgian player Nikoloz won three matches in qualifying round. In the main wrap he beat Alex Kuznetsov (7:5, 7:5) who is competing in the name of the USA. Due to this victory Georgian top seed advanced with 100 places because of adding 10 points.
Lester Cook is on the 198th position in current rating. 26-year-old Cook has the best showings this year. On September 27 Lester became world’s 193rd top seed.
In the first circle Cook beat Australian ranked No.8 player John Milman ( 179) 6:4, 6:4. American player is considered as a favorite against Basilashvili.
In case of winning, Georgian player after going through the semi quarter Basilashvili will meet American Rajan Sviting or South African Gary Sacks.
1/4 finalist of Calabasas tournament will gain 15 points, semifinalist will gain 29 points, finalist - 48 points and winner - 80 points
