Basilashvili Is in the Main Draw of the Bucharest Tournament

 

Georgian male top seed Nikoloz Basilashvili celebrated three victories in the qualifying draw of the Bucharest tournament (Romania, 485 760 USD) and made through to the main draw.

The 22-year-old Basilashvili was not seeded in the qualifying draw of BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy but he defeated Mate Pavic of Croatia (6:4, 6:4), Tobias Kamke of Germany (7:5, 6:4) and Henri Laaksonen of Switzerland 6:7, (4:7), 6:1, 6:4.

The last match lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes. Nikoloz used 8 from 17 break-points. His opponent used 5 from 8 break-points.

The Georgian tennis player served 1 ace and made 4 double faults. Overall, the Georgian won 107 rallies and his opponent – 95.

Basilashvili is in the 310th place with 145 points in ATP ranking. He earned 12 ranking points in Romania and guaranteed Top 300.

In the main draw Nikoloz will play another qualified Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania. The 23-year-old Lithuanian is in the 157th place in the ranking.

Basilashvili and Berankis will play on April 22, at 16:00 Tbilisi time. If the Georgian beats the Lithuanian, he will gain 20 points.
