Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili has not been in a good condition this year and due to traumas, she has only 2 victories, so every success for her is very important.

So, her victory is very pleasant, she gained a victory in the main draw of Strasburg international tournament (prize money 235 000 USD).

Anna played against one of the winners of qualifying round Caroline Garcia  in the match which lasted for two hours and half 6:7 (4:7), 7:5, 6:4.

In total Georgian tennis player won 118 points, French player -113.

Anna played at this tournament last year, but in the first round she lost with Anabel Medina Garige 5:7, 6:4, 1:6, so 30 points which she earned today will be added to her ranking.

It is alrdeay known that her rival in the 1/8 final will be No.5 seed Romanian Monica Nikule, who beat New Zealander Marina Erakovic 6:7 (7:9), 6:3, 7:6 (7:5). 

By the way Nikulesku is No.49 seed of the world. In case of beating her, Georgian tennis player will earn 70 points. As you know, now she has 778 points and she is No.80 seed in world ranking according to WTA ranking.

It is also remarkable that Tatishvili plays the match in the doubles tournament. She and Vesna Dolontz plays against No.3 rank Kara Blacks of Zimbabwe and Marina Erakovic.
