Anna Tatishvili goes on successful competition in the Strasbourg tournament (France, 250 000 USD). After overcoming the first round, the Georgian played against No.5 seed Monica Niculescu of Romania.
At the beginning of the match Monica gained advantage and advanced 5:0 but later Anna minimized the difference – 4:5. Unfortunately, Monica made another break in the 10th game and won – 6:4.
Tatishvili played a risky match. The Georgian tennis player won 3 games in a row and won the second set – 6:3.
Anna had advantage in the decisive set. She made two breaks and finally won the match – 4:6, 6:3, 6:2.
The match lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes. Tatishvili made 8 breaks and Niculescu – only 5. Anna served 1 ace and had 4 double faults. Niculescu had only one double fault.
In ¼ final Tatishvili will play against world No.93, 19-year-old Eugenie Bouchard of Canada. Bouchard defeated Camila Giorgi of Italy – 6:3, 6:0.
