Ambako Avaliani won golden medal in 73 weight category and it is the only medal for Georgian National Judo Team for the first day of Tbilisi World Cup.
Five Georgians participated in decisive matches, Avaliani was among them. He wrestled against Aleksey Ramanchuk of Belarus. Others lost chance of winning medal in repechage. Davit Asumbani and Paata Merebashvili (both of them 60 kg) lost with Armenian Hovhannes Davtyan and Latvian Andrey  Smagers. Zviad Bazandarashvili lost with Ukrainian Volodimir Soroka and lost chance of winning medal in 73 weight category.
Tomorrow, champions and prize winners will be found out in – 81, 90, 100, +100 weight categories.
