If the sixth round of the Hyderabad tournament turned out successful for the Georgian chess players, they did not have good results in the seventh round.
The second-place Levan Pantsulaia (2595) lost to Santosh Gujrathi Vidit of India (2582) and is in the 6th place with 5.0 points.
Tornike Sanikidze (2553) who is in the 14th place drew with Samvel Ter-Sahakyan of Armenia (2568).
As for another Georgian Merab Gagunashvili (2556), he lost to Mikhail Mozharov of Russia (2508) and is in the 15th place with 4.5 points.
In the 8th round Pantsulaia will play Azer Mirzoev of Azerbaijan (2519) with white pieces. Sanikidze and Gagunashvili will face the Indians – Chakkravarthy Deepan (2471) and Kidambi Sundararajan (2435).
Sethuraman of India (2553) is leading with 6.0 points. Ivan Popov (Russia, 2652), Vidit and Mozharov are half point behind him.
The Indian tournament is based on Swiss system and it will end up on December 3. Popov is No.1 seed, Pantsulaia – No.2, Gagunashvili – No.9 and Sanikidze – No.10.
