“Winning over Armenian National Team made us glad but it is not time for self-satisfaction. We had a lot of gaps. I know that our rival is another on March 26 and we have to play 10 times better”- stated Aleksander Iashvili in an interview with “World Sport”. 16 goals in National Team, according to it “Akuna” is the best in Georgian National Team, but totally he is behind Shota Arveladze. On February 9 Iashvili was as active as he is. Captain of “Karlsruher” Germany score the 16th goal against Armenian National Team and played big role in Davit Siradze’s goal.
- Could you please make total estimation?
- To win is good and I leave for Germany very happy. 9 unbeaten matches are quite welcome, but we know that playing quality was not good. It has its reasons – some of players have not started playing in their clubs yet and that’s why they are not in good physical condition. It won’t be against Croatia. But Armenian team is not also weak rival, they won over Slovak National Team in qualifying round and then Slovak team played at World Championship.
- Your goal looked like prepared combination in training, did not it?
- Khizanishvili assisted to Kobiashvili and he also assisted me goal well. On previous day I scored the same type goal after assisting goal by “Kobi” at the training too.
- While scoring you injured leg, did it cause your change?
- Yes it did. After crashing to goalkeeper I injured my leg, I avoided complication and asked head coach to change me.
- How is your leg now?
- On Friday we have rest in “Karlsruher”, on Sunday I have to play against “Hertha”.
- What did Temur Ketsbaia say after the match, what did he direct his attention to?
- There was not special talk. Just he said that a lot of work is ahead us and we have to do our best.
- It was friendly match but in any case it was derby. Did you have any special emotion before the match against Armenian team?
- No, I did not. All the matches are important for me. When you play with tee-shirt of National Team no matter it is friendly or official match, your have to do your best.
- You said that there were some gaps in this match. Could you say in details?
- I can say the details but want to say one thing: we let much to Armenians. Defense line was weak and in the next matches we have to strengthen our attack line. Maybe Armenians could not use chances but Croatians will use.
- 9 Unbeaten matches. National Team seems to be more self-confident against Croatia due to it..
- Of course, we will be. Difficult match is ahead us, because Croatian National Team is preparing for that match seriously, we hope that “Erovnuli” stadium will be full of Georgian fans.
- “Karlsruher” has quite good main staff and why is it an outsider?
- Only “Hertha” has better main staff than we have in league but we have bad result. Second Bundesliga is difficult championship. I hope we will be able to improve situation. Our aim was to go through Bundesliga, but we could not manage it.
- “Karlsruher” keeps place in the second Bundesliga, does not it?
- Of course, it does.
