Georgians Lost Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi

 

Georgian national judo team ended Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi unsuccessfully. Today, Paata Gviniashvili (90kg) and Rostom Khakhaleishvili (+100kg) participated and both of them lost.

Gviniashvili could not win over Dutch Noel Van Tend, who won with ippon. Bilal Zuan of Algeria won over Khakhaleishvili with ippon too.

In 90 kg Russian Kirill Denisov won the bronze medal. Walter Facent of Italy became the champion. Aslan Kambiev of Russia overcame all in the heavyweight.

Another two sets of medals were awarded today. Sergiu Toma, who wrestled on behalf of the United Arab Emirates, took the first place in 81kg weight category and in 100kg – German Dimitri Peters.

Recall, that Irakli Uznadze, head coach of the Georgian team, filled the list with young athletes mostly. The main candidates of the team he will take to Jigoro Kano’s traditional tournament to wrestle to “Grand Slam”.
