International Judo Federation published new world ranking. This ranking includes the results of Samsun “Grand Prix” which was held on March 30-31. Head coaches of the teams did not take titled judokas to Turkey. So, there are a few changes on the ranking.
Neither Georgian team took titled judokas to Samsun. Zebeda (73kg) Rekhviashvili showed the best result. Only he managed to get in Top 3. Rekhviashvili won bronze medal and earned 120 ranking points. He was in the 27th place and advanced with 10 places. Nugzar Tatalashvili did not wrestle in Turkey. He lost three positions and is in the 21st place on the ranking.
Onise Bugadze (+100kg) who took the 5th place at “Grand Prix” earned 60 points. He advanced with 42 places. The Georgian heavyweight is in the 77th place.
Paata Merebashvili (60kg), Arsena Macharashvili (73kg) and Davit Loriashvili (100kg) earned 36-36 points on the Turkish tatami. All of them lost in 1/8 final. Macharashvili is in the 121st place. Merebashvili advanced with 17 places and Loriashvili – with 7.
Leader is changed only in 100kg. Czech Lukas Krpalek who was in the second place took the first place on the ranking now. Davit Loriashvili lost to Krpalek at Samsun “Grand Prix”.
Varlam Liparteliani (90kg) has the highest ranking from the Georgians. He is a current champion of Europe and leads his weight category. Liparteliani is 370 points ahead of Cuban Asley Gonzales.
Olympic champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili is in the second place of 66kg. He is 48 points behind David Larose. Amiran Papinashvili (60kg) and Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg) took the third places.
