This morning the Georgian judo team departed for Austria and started participating in the joint 10-day meeting. Head coach Irakli Uznadze put team candidates on the Austrian list.
16 judokas are on the list of Uznadze: Amiran Papinashvili, Lasha Shavdatuashvili (both 60 kg), Shalva Kardava, Vazha Margvelashvili (both 66 kg), Nugzar Tatalashvili, Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Phridon Gigani (all 73 kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili, Ushangi Margiani, Zebeda Rekhviashvili (all 81 kg), Valeri Liparteliani, Beka Gviniashvili (both 90 kg), Lasha Guruli, Aleksandre Zaalishvili (both 100 kg), Adam Okruashvili, Levan Matiashvili (both +100 kg).
Three judokas left for Austria with their own expenses: Beka Shavdatuashvili, Giorgi Gugulashvili (both 66 kg) and Zviad Gogochuri (90 kg).
Other candidates of the team will hold meeting in Tbilisi. Later, Irakli Uznadze will gather the expanded composition of the team in Tbilisi. On February 7-8 the Georgians will wrestle in Sofia. The main composition will participate in Dusseldorf Grand Prix on February 20-22.
Tbilisi Grand Prix will be held on March 20-22. Paris Grand Slam will be held on October 17-18.
