Georgian national sambo team returned from European championship without a gold medal, which was underway in the city of Italy, Krema. But they returned with 7 medals. The team trained by Jondo Muzashvili a veteran sambo wrestler earned three-three silver and bronze medals. ShoreSharadze na a member of Georgian national women sambo team gained a bronze medal, in 64 kg weight category she became a prize winner of Europe the second times in a row.

Ushangi Kuznashvili (62kg), Kakha Mamulashvili (74kg) and Lasha Guruli (100kg) won bronze medals. As a result Georgian team took the third place with 27 points and they are five points behind the second place winners (Belarus). Russia ended European championship with the best result - 49.
