The award ceremony of the best athletes of 2014 took place in “Event Hall”. Avtandil Chrikishvili was named as the best athlete of 2014.

Besides the best athlete, the winners of different nominations were revealed as well. Judo national team won the title of the best team of 2014. President of Chess Federation Gia Giorgadze became the best manager of 2014. Levan Tediashvili has become a legend of Georgian sport, who was given a car as a gift. Nino Odzelashvili was named the best woman athlete.

Irakli Uznadze became the best coach and Zaza Pachulia got the title of the best legionary. Rugby union was named the best Federation. University SEU rewarded for their contribution to the development of university sport. Besik Lekishvili got the title of the best para-sportsman. The rower Zaza Nadiradze became the discovery of the year.

Vakhtang Chadrashvili became the best non-olympian. Beka Gviniashvili was named the best young athlete.

Besides, the winners in special nominations were revealed. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, minister of Georgian Economics, got the award for the promotion of sports in 2014. Shota Gorgodze, Levan Moseshvili and Irakli Medzmariashvili were rewarded for the special contribution in Georgian sports.

Today, the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Levan Kipiani summed up the last year. According to him, last year was succesfull, Georgian athletes won many medals, however, it is not enough and the work must continue in order to achive more next year.
