An Inconsistent Procedural Agreement will be Signed with Referees

The trial agreement with the referees, suspected in “laying” matches, will be signed on January 22 next year. This issue turned out to be clear on Wednesday at the meeting in city court. The process was delayed at the request of the defense, because some of technical details were unresolved.

According to prosecutor Zviad Pkhakadze, the agreement between the parties will be mixed.

The referees, who are charged in one episode, received 9-month imprisonment, 3-year suspended imprisonment and a fine of 3000 GEl.

The two arbitrators, who are charged in a number of episodes, imposed more severe punishment. For example, Otar Khetsadze will spend 1 year in prison, will have 3-year suspended imprisonment and will pay 15 000 GEL.

The sentence of Mamuka Urushadze is similar, the difference is only is sum – 10 000 GEL.

According to the plea agreement, the referees cannot judge for 2 years.

Otar Khetsadze, Irakli Urushadze, Mamuka Urushadze, Teimuraz Khuchua (all are referees of national category), Aleksandre Guntadze, Zviad Askarogli (first category), Onise Molodinashvili (assistant of national category) and Tornike Gvantseladze (FIFA referee) were detained by the employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs on September 24.
