Ten-minute break was announced at the congress of Georgian Basketball Federation, which took place in the conference hall of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. After the break, Mikheil Gabrichidze, president of Georgian Basketball Federation made a brief comment for media:

“We have received a new wording of the Basketball Federation’s statute, which fully satisfies FIBA’s modern requirements. According to the mentioned statute, a person can nominate himself as a candidate twice”.

Recall that according the old wording of the statute the current president could take part in the presidential election indefinitely. Now, he can only twice nominate as a candidate.
