Two Bronze Night

Beka Gviniashvili (90 kg), member of Georgian Judo Youth team, won bronze medal at the Miami World Championship. Levan Gugava, wrestler in 81 kg weight category, ended the tournament with the same result. As for Ushangi Margiani (81 kg), he took the 7th place.

In the main draw, Beka Gviniashvili won 3 meetings in 5 minutes. He overcame South Korean Jae Yun Kim and Japanese Shoichiro Mukai by wazari and won over Jewish Li Kochman by ippon. In semifinal the Georgian lost to Hungarian Krisztian Toth by yuko and made though to the repechage final.

Another Georgian wrestled in 90 kg weight category. Nikoloz Sherazadashvili, wrestler on behalf of Spain, won the silver medal. In final he lost to Toth.

In semifinal, Levan Gugava lost to Russian Mikhail Igolnikov. In “bronze final” he overcame Dutch Rico Harder.

Ushangi Margiani lost the chance of gold-silver in ¼ final against Sweden Jonas Bjorktorp. In repechage semifinal the Georgian judoka lost to Dutch Rico Harder and occupied the 7th place.

Today, Guram Tushishvili (100 kg), Guga Kibordzalidze (+100 kg) and Elene Kebadze (+78 kg) will wrestle on Miami tatami.

Preliminary stage meetings will start at 18:00.
