Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, forward of the Georgia national team, made a short comment after the match against Czech Republic.
“I felt as if I was playing in Georgia and I would like to thank fans for that. We were close to victory. They had many chances but Mamardashvili saved us many times and that is why, I think, he is the best goalkeeper. As long as there is even 1 per cent chance, we will fight till the end against any team.
Even though, I am not playing in my position, I am doing my best for the team and I am happy. Of course, I can do more but I am trying to do everything that I am instructed to do.
We were close to victory but we are cheering Saba up because something like this can happen to anyone.
I was not replaced because of injury. The coach decided so and I respect his decision”.
The Georgia – Czech Republic match finished 1:1 and Georgia gained the first point at the EURO 2024.
