Ivan Hasek, head coach of the Czech Republic national team, held a post-match press conference after draw with Georgia at the EURO 2024.

“I would like to congratulate Georgia and their coach Willy Sagnol on getting a point. Both teams played a game that was spectacular for the supporters; there was a great atmosphere.

We dominated the game but failed to score the second goal. 26 attempts speak for themselves. We have to admit we were glad that our opponents did not convert their chance on the counter in the last minute.

It is a dream for every football player to play in such games in front of such fantastic fans. Our players thanked them at full time, but also the Georgian supporters who created such a great atmosphere. That is the main reason why we want to qualify. We do not want to go home – we want to stay as long as possible”.

The match between Georgia and Czech Republic finished 1:1 and our team gained the first point at the European Championship.
