The players of Georgia’s national football team commented on the current events in the country and said to Russia – NO.
Giorgi Kochorashvili: “Freedom is power that God gave us and this freedom is something that every Georgian owns. That day of March 26 when everyone was happy and hugged each other, has not disappeared and is kept in our hearts. However, nothing is more important than the country, not a single championship and not a single sporting event. Glory and freedom to Georgia. No to violence! No to Russia! Georgia’s path is to Europe. I am Georgia”.
Luka Lochoshvili: “Those who use violence against people, especially against women, are not humans. A huge respect to the people who are fighting for our country!”
Giorgi Chakvetadze: “It is hard for me to watch how my fellow citizens, especially women and children, are confronted. Nothing is above our people, no law is above that. Withdraw this law and let us continue to live as united as it was on March 26. No to Russia, in full swing towards Europe”.
Giorgi Kvilitaia: “There comes a moment in our life when silence is a crime. There is a limit beyond which everything loses its meaning. That is why, no to Russia! No to violence and thanks to everyone who protects these values at the cost of their lives”.
Tornike Okriashvili: “The reality that is happening in our country is completely unacceptable! No to violence! No to Russia! Georgia in Europe!
Anri Mekvabishvili: “The number of people who have come out on Rustaveli Avenue these days and maybe even more were celebrating Georgia’s participation in the European Championship. Our place is only in Europe. Playing for Georgia has always been, is and will be glorious. We are Georgia. The end of the fairy tale is good”.
Jaba Kankava: “Fuck the man who praised a Russian first. No to Russia”.
Giorgi Aburjania: “No to Russia. No to violence”.
Buba Daushvili: “Please, withdraw the law which causes division and conflict between people. Long live Georgia”.
