Gustavo Poyet, head coach of the Greece national team, held a press conference after the match against Georgia in EURO 2024 play-off final.

The Uruguayan coach talked about the match and congratulated Georgia on victory:

First of all, I want to congratulate the Georgia national team, the whole country and especially, Willy Sagnol, who I know very well. After the match I could not manage to congratulate him in person and hopefully, I will be able to do it.

It was a very tough match which we expected. There were many fights and yellow cards. In penalty shoot-outs luck is always on the side of one team and today it was on the side of Georgia”, - Poyet said.

The Georgians will compete in Group F at EURO 2024. They will face Turkey (June 18, Dortmund), Czech Republic (June 22, Hamburg) and Portugal (June 26, Gelsenkirchen).
