Unsuccessful Start

The Georgian national team started Euro 2015 qualification with failure. The Georgians had territorial advantage and real goal moments but could not use them. The hosts were “punished” and now it is tough for them to go through to elite round.

At the beginning of the match Mate Kvirkvia had a chance to score goal but missed. Luka Zarandia kicked ball toward target twice in a row but the Montenegrin goalkeeper parried.

In the middle of the first half Giorgi Kharaishvili kicked the ball but Matija Sarkic parried. Zarandia also had another good chance but could not use it.

The first half finished draw – 0:0.

At the beginning of the second half Giorgi Kilasonia started offence. He assisted Zarandia who found Kiteishvili. The latter kicked the ball which touched goalpost.

In the middle of the second half Zurab Gelashvili committed foul against Andjelo Rudovic and Czech referee awarded the Montenegrins with penalty. Climjanovic scored penalty – 0:1.

Substitute Oliver Sarkic scored the second goal against the Georgian national team.

After the match Giorgi Devdariani, head coach of the Georgian national team, was very disappointed: “Nothing is to be evaluated. We lost and we have to win two matches. We lacked defenders Jimi Tabidze and Giorgi Tevzadze. We have chances in the first and second halves. I am very disappointed and I am apologizing our fans. We have to win two matches. Cyprus and Romania are better teams than Montenegro. When these boys played in U-17 team, they had won two matches after the first failure”.

The head coach of the Montenegrin national team refused to hold a press conference.
