Markoishvili is Best, CSKA Won another Award

CSKA of Manuchar Markoishvili easily won Alexander Gomelsky Cup in Russia. The Georgian basketball player was the most productive in final and became the owner of the most valuable player’s title (MVP) as well.

Recall that in semifinal of Fourth Tournament the Russian grand beat Lithuanian Lietuvos Ritas 87:70 and then Markoishvili scored 10 points. The same number of points had the Georgian in the decisive match against Panathinaikos (Athens) 75:46.

Another thing is that “Manu” added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. In 27 minutes the Georgian player scored 3 2 pointers of 5, 1 3 pointers of 6 and 1 free throw. He had 2 turnovers.

As a result, the coefficient of Manuchar reached 14, which turned to be the best indicator of both teams.

As we mentioned, after the match, Markoishvili gained the prize of the best player, Vitali Frizdon was recognized as the best defender and as the best coach was named Dimitrios Itoudis, Greek head coach of CSKA.

The club of Markoishvili will have the first official match of the season on October 8 against Finnish “Nilan Bisons”.
