Tatishvili Has Retired

The 30-year-old Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili has retired. She made the following statement:

“Unfortunately, due to recurring injuries my body is not allowing me to play competitive tennis any longer – it turned out that professional tennis is not only a fight on court but also an equal degree, maybe even more, a fight with injuries. No matter how painful the decision was for me I had to decide to leave professional tennis and focus on my career off the court”.

Tatishvili competed in the name of Georgia until 2014. Then, she competed in the name of the USA. Anna has earned 1.5 million USD during her career. She has won one WTA tournament in singles. Tatishvili has won 19 ITF tournaments. At the 2012 US Open Anna overcame three rounds and beat then world No.8 Karolina Pliskova.
