Georgian judoka Varlam Liparteliani (100 kg) could not win a medal at World Championship 2019 which is underway in Tokyo, Japan.

Liparteliani started participation from the second round. He beat Estonia’s Grigori Minaskin by 3 shidos and France’s Alexandre Iddir by waza-ari. In ¼ final the Georgian lost to Portugal’s Jorge Fonseca by ippon.

Unfortunately, in repechage Varlam fell to Michael Korrel of Netherlands by waza-ari.

Tomorrow Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) will wrestle on the Japanese tatami.
