Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili beat Dusan Lajovic of Serbia 3:6, 6:4, 6:4 in the first round of Montreal Masters (6 338 885 USD).

The Georgian did not hold his best match but managed to win it anyway.

Nika served 1 ace and made 10 double faults, used 7 from 13 break-points. Overall, the Georgian tennis player won 96 points and the Serb – 84.

Basilashvili did not participate in Montreal last year. So, he earned 45 ranking points by defeating Lajovic. In the second round the Georgian will face Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany who beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 6:2, 6:2.
