Zagreb Grand Prix finished with triumph of Georgian judokas. On the last day of the tournament Beka Gviniashvili (90 kg) and Gela Zaalishvili (+100 kg) won gold medals, Levan Matiashvili (+100 kg) won bronze medal.
Gviniashvili beat Narsej Lackovic of Slovenia by ippon, Shakhzodbek Sabirov of Uzbekistan by three shidos, Kenta Nagasawa of Japan, Krisztian Toth of Hungary by waza-ari and Sanshiro Murao of Japan by ippon.
In this weight category Giorgi Papunashvili defeated Yahor Varapayeu of Belarus by ippon and Milan Randl of Slovakia. But then he lost to Mammadali Mehdiyev of Azerbaijan by ippon.
In +100 kg Gela Zaalishvili won over Anton Brachev of Russia by ippon, Or Sasson of Israel by three shidos, Maciej Sarnacki of Poland, Roy Meyer of Netherlands by waza-ari and Hisayoshi Harasawa of Japan by ippon.
Levan Matiashvili beat Ushangi Kokauri of Azerbaijan and Temur Rakhimov of Tajikistan by ippon but then fell to Hisayoshi Harasawa of Japan. In repechage Matiashvili defeated Yerassyl Kazhybayev of Kazakhstan by ippon and Roy Meyer of Netherlands by three shidos.
Onise Saneblidze and Lasha Taveluri wrestled in 100 kg. Saneblidze won over Ivan Remarenco of the United Arab Emirates but then failed to Benjamin Fletcher of Ireland.
Taveluri beat Adnan Khankan of refugee Olympic team but then lost to Peter Paltchik of Israel by waza-ari.
Overall, the Georgian team won 2 gold and 2 bronze medals and took the first place.
