Georgia Fell to Serbia

The Georgian national basketball team lost to Serbia in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification.

The team of Ilia Zouros held a very weak game at Tbilisi Sports Palace. The Georgian basketball players were bad at defence and offence as well. They scored only 18 points in 20 minutes!

Serbia won the first half 37:18 and the fate of the game was already decided.

Of course, it was difficult to minimize score and win the game in the second half. Finally, Georgia lost 50:87.

Thad McFadden (18 points) and Tornike Shengelia (13 points) scored more than 10 points in the Georgian team. Dejan Todorovic (24 points), Dragan Milosavljevic (15 points) and Boban Marjanovic (13 points) had the best results in the Serbian team.

McFadden, Rati Andronikashvili and Sandro Mamukelashvili had debuts in the Georgian national team.

Georgia has 1 win and 4 defeats and is in the third place in the group.

Georgia will hold the last game of the current qualifying stage against Austria on July 2 in Tbilisi.
