The Georgian national basketball team defeated Greece in the first match of Acropolis Cup.

Our team started badly and gave up the first period 8:18, but then changed the game significantly and ended up the first half 33:37.

The Georgian team had advantage in the third period too and managed to get a point, however the final part started badly for our team and the Greeks gained 9 points. 17 seconds before the end of the match, Giorgi Tsintsadze scored a perfect 3 pointer – 72:71.

Giorgi Shermadini was the best among Georgians, who gained 23 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. Giorgi Tsintsadze (13 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists), Manuchar Markoishvili (9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist) and Tornike Shengelia (14 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists) played perfectly.
