Nine Georgian Greco-Romans in the World's Best

In the world ranking of Greco-Roman wrestling, the current European champion Zurab Datunashvili is in the 2nd place.

The United World Wrestling (UWW) has published a renewed rating-list, featuring the top 20 of eight weight categories. Traditionally, without points.

In 80 kg, Zurab Datunashvili is only behind the world champion Ramazan Abacharaev of Russia. Hungarian Peter Bak (world champion 2014) is in the 3rd place.

Besides Datunashvili, there are another 8 Georgians in the world ranking. Heavy weight is especially successful for us. There are three Georgians in 130 weight category – European bronze winner Levan Arabuli (5th place), world champion among youth Zviad Pataridze (14th position) and Tbilisi Grand Prix winner Iakob Kajaia (17th position).

Bronze winner of Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Games Shmagi Bolkvadze is in the 6th place in 66 kg. the European vice-champion Robert Kobliashvili (85kg) is in the 12th place. The world champion among youth Ramaz Zoidze and Tbilisi Grand Prix winner Nikoloz Kelasovi (80kg) are in the 16th position. Lasha Gobadze (85kg) occupied the 18th place.
