Freestyle wrestler Vladimer Khinchegashvili won another gold medal at European Championship in the city of Serbia, Novi Sad. It is his third European gold medal.
The 26-year-old Georgian wrestler (61 kg) started participating from the second round. Khinchegashvili beat Andrei Perpelita of Moldova 4:1, Akhmednabi Gvarzatilov of Azerbaijan 9:5 and Petro Bileichuk of Ukraine 8:2. In final he won over Akhmed Chakaev of Russia 10:9.
Avtandil Kenchadze (74 kg) also wrestled in the name of Georgia but he could not win a medal. The Georgian defeated Vasile Madalin Minzala of Romania 5:1 and Svetoslav Zhivkov Dimitrov of Bulgaria 15:4. In ¼ final he failed to Grigor Grigoryan of Armenia 5:4.
Today champions and prize winners will be revealed in 70 and 125 kg. Davit Tlashadze (70 kg) and Geno Petriashvili (125 kg) will compete in the name of Georgia.
