Seven Gold of Georgia

Georgia’s freestyle wrestling youth team showed the excellent result at the international tournament, under way in Spanish city of Elche. Georgians stood on the pedestal in all 7 weight categories (7 gold and 3 silver). The team took the first place with 70 points and surpassed Spain with 14 points. Poland occupied the third place with 33 points.

Following participants became the champions of this tournament: Ramaz Turmanidze (55kg), Teimuraz Vanishvili (60kg), Iveri Julakidze (66kg), Mirza Skhulukhia (74kg), Nika Kenchadze (84kg), Givi Macharashvili (97kg) and Zuriko Urtashvili (125kg).

According to the Georgian Wrestling National Federation, Ramaz Turmanidze, Iveri Julakidze and Nika Kenchadze defeated their teammates Goga Dzigua, Edemi Bolkvadze and Zaur Beradze in final. Teimuraz Vanishvili won over Carlos Garcia of Spain, Mirza Skhulukhia defeated Sebastian Bach of Poland. Givi Macharashvili and Zuriko Urtashvili overcame Lopez Fernandez of Spain and Diego Iglesias Cuevas of Spain – 10:0.
