16-year-old judoka Mariam Chanturia (63 kg) became a champion at Cadet European Cup which took place in Teplice, Czech Republic. The Georgian girls’ team competed with 9 athletes and gained 2 medals. Besides Chanturia, Sophio Somkhishvili took the third place in +70 kg.

Before the final, Mariam Chanturia beat five opponents: Mareike Reddig of Germany, Karyna Sarkisyan of Ukraine, Emily Cooper of Great Britain and Anetta Mosr of Luxembourg. In the final she defeated Annabelle Winzig of Germany.

Sophio Somkhishvili won over Szilvia Farkas of Hungary and Sara Campillo Fernandez of Spain. In semifinal the Georgian fell to Mine Kalender of Turkey. In repechage final Somkhishvili beat Petra Farago of Hungary.
