The doubles meeting between Georgia and Lithuania in Europe/Africa II zone ended up. Georgia was represented by Nikoloz Basilashvili and Giorgi Tsivadze, Lithuania – Laurynas Grigelis and Lukas Mugevicius. Due to the rain, the game was interrupted three time and it lasted for 3 hours and 40 minutes.
In this meeting, the guests were considered as the favorites. The Lithuanians won 3:0 (6:4, 6:3, 6:3) and advanced 2:1.
The fate of the match will be decided tomorrow, after two meetings of the singles. Nikoloz Basilashvili will play Lithuania’s NO.1 Laurynas Grigelis. If Lithuanian team’s captain Rimvydas Mugevicius does not change his decision when he put Tadas Babelis as the second seed, he will be the opponent of Giorgi Tsivadze. Most likely, he will change his initial decision and Tsivadze will face Lukas Mugevicius. Winning only one match of two is enough for the visitors. The hosts have to win both matches to achieve the goal.
The match will be renewed tomorrow, 12:00.
