Tbilisi Grand Prix with Okruashvili's Golden Finish

Tbilisi Grand Prix has finished with Georgian anthem. Adam Okruashvili beat Stanislav Bondarenko of Ukraine in final of +100 kg. Another Georgian heavyweight Levan Matiashvili defeated compatriot Guga Kibordzalidze in repechage final and won bronze medal.

Ushangi Margiani (90 kg) also won bronze medal. Georgian female judoka Elene Kebadze took the 5th place.

Before the final Adam Okruashvili defeated Alexander Mikhaylin of Russia, Yelaman Yergaliyev of Kazakhstan and David Moura of Brazil.

Before repechage Matiashvili won only one meeting in the main draw. He beat compatriot Onise Bugadze by waza-ari and then failed to Bondarenko.

Ushangi Margiani started participating from the second round and won over Vahid Nouri of Iran. In ¼ final he fell to Gabor Ver of Hungary. In repechage semifinal Margiani beat Altanbagana Gantulga of Mongolia and in bronze final the Georgian won over Max Stewart of Great Britain.

Tbilisi Grand Prix was successful for Elene Kebadze. The 22-year-old Georgian won two meetings in the main draw. She beat Pelageya Lapshina of Russia and Svitlana Iaromska of Ukraine. In semifinal Elene lost to Maryna Slutskaya of Belarus. In repechage final Kebadze fell to Mercedesz Szigetvari of Hungary.

Archil Gogolashvili, Nika Sidamonidze, Nodar Beriani (all 90 kg), Lasha Taveluri, Iason Nemsadze, Onise Saneblidze, Aleksandre Zaalishvili (all 100 g) and Onise Bugadze (+100 kg) also wrestled today but all of them finished competing in the morning program.
