Georgia national team’s head coach Vladimir Weiss spoke to media after the victory over Latvia’s national team. Slovakian specialist said that he is happy with this victory, but also noted that the Latvian national team cannot be useful to measure the strength.

Weiss singled out several players – Jano Ananidze, Giorgi Kvilitaia and recruits. Especially he emphasized Giorgi Arabidze’s play.

“I am pleased that we were able to win after a long time and with a great score of course. It was a friendly match, but it was still nice. It is unfortunate that we failed to Serbia and the criticism was deserved. It today’s match, we did everything well and won deservedly.

There are different scenarios in official and friendly matches. First of all, opponent’s quality is notable. I respect the Latvian team, but it is not Serbia, Ireland or Wales. The players managed to maintain their concentration throughout the game. I would single out Ananidze, Kvilitaia and Arabidze, who hold the second match for the national team. We always try to show our best. I repeat, I am pleased that today we succeeded.

As for Loria, Kvirkvelia and Kankava – no matter if they were with the team today, they will not play anyway, because I wanted to test other players. In addition, the clubs have asked for their release. Today, I wanted to give a chance to Giorgi Makaridze and he played very well.

I think that newcomers played well – Makaridze, Kiteishvili, Arabidze, Kvilitaia. Generally, when the game goes well, it is much easier to identify opportunities. However, I do not think that I have to make major changes in the official matches. As for Kazaishvili – the match with Serbia was psychologically big hit for him and he needs support and will take it from us. The Georgian national team really needs Kazaishvili. In June, most likely Okriashvili and Chanturia will not play again and I have to make forced replacement, but I did not see any special reasons.

I observe Giorgi Merebashvili and other players as well – I do not exclude that in future other players will also receive a chance, because it is a national team”, - said Weiss.
