38 Countries Registered at Tbilisi Grand Prix

The International Judo Federation released preliminary lists of participant countries of Tbilisi Grand Prix. 280 judokas from 38 countries are registered at Tbilisi Grand Prix which will take place at Tbilisi Olympic Palace from March 31 to April 2.

As it was expected, the upcoming tournament will lack a lot of titled athletes. Japanese and South Korean teams are not on the list. Many European teams are coming to Georgia with renewed compositions.

According to the decision of the coaching staff, the Georgian team will also compete with a weak composition. The following judokas will not wrestle: Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg), Vazha Margvelashvili (66 kg), Lasha Shavdatuashvili (73 kg), Zebeda Rekhviashvili, Tamaz Kirakozashvili (both 81 kg), Beka Gviniashvili, Avtandil Tchrikishvili (both 90 kg), Varlam Liparteliani (100 kg) and Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg).

The Georgian men’s team will have 28 athletes at Grand Prix and women’s team will have only 8.
