Budu Zivzivadze, forward of Samtredia, was named the best player of the national championship 2016. The 22-year-old forward was a top scorer in the previous season.

Besides Zivzivadze, the nominees were Teimuraz Shonia, player of Dinamo Batumi, and Bachana Arabuli, forward of Samtredia.
The GFF’s poll ended up on December 20. Head coaches and captains of First and Second Leagues participated in the poll. Head coaches and captains of women’s and futsal clubs also participated in the poll.
