The Georgia national basketball team reached its goal and will play at EuroBasket 2017. Today the team of Ilias Zouros defeated Montenegro 90:84 in the last game of the qualifying round and took the first place in the Group F.
Georgia held today’s game perfectly and did not give a chance to the opponent. Only, three minutes before the end of the game the hosts were winning with 5 points (84:79) but Michael Dixon and Viktor Sanikidze scored 3-point. These episodes were turning point and the Georgians kept advantage.
Michael Dixon held a brilliant game. He earned 31 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 36:15 minutes. Michael scored 7 from 10 3-point and all 8 free throws.
Zaza Pachulia made a double-double. He earned 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in 33:13 minutes. Viktor Sanikidze (14 pts, 7 reb, 1 ast) and Giorgi Tsintsadze (13 pts, 3 reb, 7 ast) scored more than 10 points.
Georgia made through to EuroBasket four times in a row. The Georgians won 5 from 6 games in Group F.
The draw will take place in Istanbul in November.
