The Georgians' Unsuccessful Day

The second day of World Championship turned out to be unsuccessful for the Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team. Today champions and prize winners will be revealed in five weight categories but the Georgians will not be in Top 3.

In 42 kg Giorgi Chkhikvadze lost to Adem Burak Uzun of Turkey 4:12. Luka Ochigava (46 kg) defeated Ivan Emilov Damyanov of Bulgaria but then failed to Kadir Kazim Kamal of Turkey 0:8.

Luka Khutsishvili (76 kg) fell to Maksim Bandarenka of Belarus 4:9.

Giorgi Katsanashvili (85 kg) beat Muzaffarbek Komiljonov of Uzbekistan but then lost to Alex Gergo Szoke of Hungary (5:1). In repechage Katsanashvili fell to Ihar Yarashevich of Belarus 0:8.

Levan Gogua (69 kg) won over Piotr Zablocki of Poland 2:1 and Dmitrij Parechelasvili of Lithuania 3:0. In ¼ final he failed to Ulvu Ganizade of Azerbaijan and in repechage semifinal he was ousted by Mohammadreza Mahmoud Rostami of Iran 1:11. Finally, Gogua took the 7th place.

The Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team finished World Championship with two gold medals.
