Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili lost the first round of the qualifying draw at the US Open.

Basilashvili fell to Matthew Barton of Australia 7:6, 2:6, 6:8. Nikoloz won the first set on tie-break - 7:3. In the third set the Georgian was winning 3:1 but he lost 4 games in a row and the opponent advanced 5:3. Basilashvili managed to break back and tie-break decided the fate of the match. Finally, Nikoloz lost 6:8.
