The Georgia national basketball team finished Tbilisi City Hall Cup in the second place. The team of Ilias Zouros lost the decisive game to Russia. Four quarters could not decide the fate of the game and the game continued in overtime. Finally, the Russians won 100:97.

The end of the game was very dramatic. It is worth mentioning that the Georgians could have won two seconds before the end of the full time. Tornike Shengelia missed a throw when the score was 86:86. Russia won overtime 14:11 and became winner of Tbilisi City Hall Cup.

Georgia finished City Hall Cup with 2 wins and 1 loss. Now EuroBasket 2017 Qualification is ahead where Georgia will face Albania, Slovakia and Montenegro. The qualification will start on August 31 and end up on September 17.
